It was her first compilation album and was released on Columbia records (catalog no. 9968). == Album information == ''Barbra Streisand's Greatest Hits'' includes many of her biggest charting songs such as “People” which had reached #5 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and “Second Hand Rose” which peaked at #32 on that chart. It also includes “Sam, You Made the Pants Too Long” which had never before been released on an album. The album would reach #32 on the ''Billboard'' 200 and would be certified double-platinum by the RIAA. This was the second album from Streisand to chart in the UK, peaking at #44 in the UK album charts.
